Celebrate what you want — the end of summer, a four-day weekend, the death of organized labor, whatevs — with a refreshing late-summer cocktail … or three.

#1. The Blueberry Cosmo.

Add 2 oz. premium vodka, a half-ounce of Cointreau, 1 oz. chilled blueberry juice and ice into a shaker. Shake, then strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with fresh blueberries or an orange twist.

#2. Blood Orange Margarita.

Peel, segment and seed four blood oranges. Blend, with 1 tsp. lemon juice and 1 tbsp. simple syrup.  Chill, while you salt the rim of a rocks glass. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, and add the blood-orange puree with 2 oz. white tequila, 3/4 oz. orange liqueur, 1.5 oz. fresh lime juice and 1/2 oz. simple syrup. Shake, and strain into the glass. Garnish with lime or blood orange. (From New York Magazine.)

#3. Vice Lounge Sangria.

In a saucepan, combine a half-cup of granulated white sugar, 1/4 cup lemon juice,  1 cup fresh basil leaves, 1 cups peach nectar and 1 cups pear nectar. Bring to a simmer. Lightly crush the basil and remove from heat when the sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool. Strain the cooled mixture into a pitcher filled with ice cubes. Pour in an additional cup each of the pear and peach nectar. Add 750 mL of a dry white wine. Stir and serve.
